Science and Engineering Practice are becoming increasingly integrated into Delta’s operations.

The company is expanding its research activities, participating in industry conferences, collaborating with research organizations, and visiting sites where R&D is being conducted.

We see research not as a separate field existing parallel to design, but as a tool for finding new engineering solutions, improving operational efficiency, and developing the company’s professional expertise.

For the third year in a row, the “Plaksin Readings”—an International Conference dedicated to modern technologies for the Beneficiation and comprehensive, deep processing of mineral raw materials—have become one of the company’s key scientific platforms.

The “Plaksin Readings” is one of the prominent professional forums of the Russian scientific community in the field of Mineral Processing. The conference is named after Igor Plaksin— an outstanding scientist, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and founder of a scientific school in the field of Mineral Processing and Hydrometallurgy of rare, non-ferrous, and precious metals. Plaksin was twice awarded the USSR State Prize, and his scientific legacy includes approximately 800 books, articles, and inventions. International conferences named in his honor have been held since 1977.

Today, the “Plaksin Readings” bring together representatives from academia and industry, universities, research organizations, and mining companies. Over the years, the conference has been held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Apatity, Yekaterinburg, and other scientific and industrial centers in Russia.

This year, the conference is taking place September 21–25 in Khabarovsk and is dedicated to innovative processes for the comprehensive and deep processing of natural and unconventional mineral raw materials.

The program covers five thematic areas—ranging from modern technological solutions and technological mineralogy to flotation processes, comprehensive processing of raw materials, and the environmental and economic aspects of processing man-made raw materials.

As part of the conference, DELTA specialists will present their own work on one of the most important issues in modern mining—the integrated optimization of mineral processing plants. Nikita Gordevnin, Senior Process Engineer, will be a speaker for “Innovative Processes for Comprehensive and Deep Processing of Natural and Non-Traditional Mineral Raw Materials” with a presentation titled “Integrated Optimization of Concentration Plants Using Mine-to-Mill Methodology” , authored by N. Gordevnin, I. Yelkin, and A. Archer, Delta Engineering and Consulting.

Another milestone: an international research competition

Delta’s work has yielded yet another important result: the paper “Integrated Optimization of Concentration Plants Using the Mine-to-Mill Methodology” has been recommended for submission to the 18th International Research Competition! Congratulations!
